| The Oregon Cactus & Succulent Society was founded in 1947. Its purpose is to promote cooperation among those interested in the cultivation, study and preservation of cacti and other succulent plants. You are always welcome to attend any meeting. |

From the CSSA webpage: The Cactus and Succulent Society of America (CSSA) was founded in 1929 in Pasadena, California and has grown to encompass over 80 affiliated clubs and thousands of members worldwide. Our primary purpose is to enjoy succulent (water-storing) plants through horticulture, travel and scientific discovery, with a particular concern for habitat preservation and conservation issues in deserts worldwide.
Every other month members receive the full-color Cactus and Succulent Journal , widely regarded as the best and most authoritative periodical on succulent and xerophytic (dry loving) plants. It's the longest running publication of its kind and features articles of interest to beginners and advanced hobbyists alike. Our newsletter, To The Point , packaged with the Journal, is full of news and views about the succulent plant world.
If you're interested in becoming a member, email Luther at the nursery and we'll send you an application form or join at our next meeting. Membership for 2010 is $20.00 per household for one calendar year ($10.00 Senior) and includes a newsletter (Cactus Chatter) , an excellent library, field trips and informative meetings. There aren't many bargains like this around! (And remember the special offer noted above!)
And don't forget to add on a teeshirt!
The price? $12.00 for members; $16.00 for non-members. Available in medium, large & extra large.
