Mammillaria carmenae Casteñeda & Nuñez
First described in 1953 and named in honor of Prof. Carmen Gonzales-Casteñeda. It was rediscovered in 1977 by Alfred Lau and is highly endangered in its original habitat. Spine color varies considerably, from white to rust colored; ours tend to a golden hue.
