Oregon C & S Society Logo The Oregon Cactus & Succulent Society (OCSS) was founded in 1947. Its purpose is to promote cooperation among those interested in the cultivation, study and preservation of cacti and other succulent plants. You are always welcome to attend any meeting.

Our next meeting is on Sunday, June 16, beginning at 3:00 pm. The meeting will take place at 2232 SE 32nd Ave. in Portland and the main topic will be Cooking with Succulents and the plants of the month are Echinocereus and Hoya.

The summer show and sale - Succulent Plant Fest 2013 - is scheduled for July 19 - 21 at the Stark Street Portland Nursery (5050 SE Stark St). If you wish to sell plants at the event, please contact Luther (503-913-7123) as soon as possible. We are asking all members to consider bringing a succulent plant for the show table. It should have a label and potted to show off it's best features, but it doesn't need to be rare or huge. All vendors are asked to bring a minimum of 3 plants for the show table. And remember, we will need volunteers throughout the event. Thanks in advance. Luther will be giving a presentation on succulent plants on Saturday, July 20. A flyer for the event (.jpg) is available here.

It's past time to renew your membership in the society. Please do so at your earliest convenience. If you are not already a member, you may join by emailing Luther at the nursery and we'll send you an application form, or you may join at any meeting. Membership is $20.00 per household for one calendar year ($10.00 Senior) and includes a newsletter six times a year (Cactus Chatter) , an excellent library, field trips and informative meetings. There aren't many bargains like this around!
