For many people, cactus is the generic term for all succulents. Though that's not true, they do take center stage in the eyes of many. It's composed of a huge family of plants, almost entirely from the Western Hemisphere. The plant name provide a link to a photo. The photo is not necessarily the individual plant being sold, but illustrates the species as represented in our collection, and some of the plants are in limited supply. Also, indications of hardiness are guidelines only; local conditions must be taken into account. As a matter of policy, we do not sell collected plants. When ordering, please note the plant name, pot size and price. The [+] symbol indicates that shipping is extra. Thanks.

Astrophytum capricorne The "Goat's Horn" cactus. Lots of dots, few spines. Temporarily out of stock. 4" $7.50
Astrophytum capricorne var. aureum The entire genus is a taxonomical mess. This was received as A. capricorne var. senile fa. aureum, but that's unlikely to be a legitimate name. The current trend is to subsume all of the varieties under the one species, A. capricorne. All I can say is: look at the accompanying photo (as soon as we get it posted)! Temporarily out of stock. 3" $6.50
Astrophytum myriostigma var. nudum Often listed as a variety or form, but is now considered by some to be just one variation on the theme. In other words, it probably doesn't meet the strict definition of a variety. Regardless, it's distinctive in appearance and is highly prized. 3"

Echinocereus rigidissimus subsp. rubispinus Wow! The "Ruby Hedgehog." Always an eye catcher. Supply is always limited. (Syn. Echinocereus pectinatus var. rubispinus) Temporarily out of stock. 4" $7.75
Echinocereus reichenbachii var. reichenbachii Fantastic flowers! Variable spine color. Coming soon.

Echinocereus reichenbachii var. albispina The current consensus is that "albispina" isn't a variety, that there is simply a great deal of variability in spine coloration. OK. Let's just say that these plants have white spines! That should do it! And, given very good soil drainage, these are also quite hardy - enough to grow outside here in Portland. Coming soon. 4"
Echinocereus scheeri var. gentryi Don't over water; not frost hardy. Get a violet-red coloring in the sun. Clumping plants.
